Auction car total cost calculator

Enter the price you expect to win the lot at and we'll show you, line by line, what you'd actually pay: auction fees, broker fee and towing. It works whether you keep the car in the US or export it; ocean freight is optional. You'll also see the deposit RCA requires to bid.

Your plan

Estimate based on reference fees that may change. Not a quote or a final price.

How it's calculated

We use Copart's reference fee schedule for secured payment, non-clean title (tiered buyer fee, 6% from $15,000), the live-bid virtual bid fee, and the fixed gate ($95), environmental ($15) and title mailing ($15) fees. RCA's fee depends on the final price: $250 up to $5,000, $350 from $5,001 to $10,000, $500 from $10,001 to $20,000 and $700 from $20,001 up (Dealer plan: $50 less). The bidding deposit is the greater of $1,000 or 10% of your maximum bid, and it returns to your balance if you're outbid.

Frequently asked questions

Are Copart and IAAI fees the same?

Not exactly. Each auction has its own schedule and updates it from time to time. This calculator uses Copart's reference schedule; IAAI amounts are usually similar, but confirm the lot before bidding.

What does this estimate leave out?

Repairs, late-pickup storage and lot-specific charges. If you keep the car in the US, add your state's sales tax, title and registration. If you export it, add destination taxes; for the Dominican Republic you can estimate them with our import tax calculator.

Is the deposit an extra cost?

No. It's credited to your purchase if you win and returns to your balance if you're outbid. Only a card processing charge is kept when you pay by card.

Why is the broker fee shown?

Because it's part of the real cost. At RCA our fee is just another line in the budget, so you know from the start what we earn for helping you.
